Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth in Edmonds This Holiday
Written by Whitney Popa
It’s really just a fact that the holiday season is for desserts, and we are firmly on team Sweet Tooth. Plated cookies for Santa, creamy custards with a satisfying crack of crusted sugar, and rich cakes to celebrate a magical season bring us all kinds of joy.
Whether you’re craving a seasonal brûlée or pre-ordering a pile of pastries for your next party, Edmonds' holiday desserts will sweeten your teeth and create lasting memories that endure long after the season is wrapped (or, in this case, should we say…unwrapped?). Either way, come with us as we take you on a culinary adventure through a twinkle-light-strewn Edmonds to discover the sugary, happy holiday treats that await.
Without any further ado, our robust—and far from comprehensive—guide to holiday desserts in Edmonds. Use this as your launching pad for dopamine-driven city exploration. We reserve the right to update it frequently as we eat our way through the city this winter. It’s a hard job, but someone’s gotta do it, ya know?
Edmonds Holiday Desserts
Too busy or not interested in baking for the big guy in the red suit? 85C Bakery offers bags of mini chocolate chip cookies with a *touch* of sea salt Mr. Kringle won’t even notice were baked in someone else’s kitchen. If you’re hosting a gathering, also consider 85C’s long list of cakes, which includes flavors like tiramisu and coffee crème brulée.
Make a reservation at Bar Dojo to ensure you get your Mexican Kahlua Chocolate Affogato or Lavender Crème Brûlée, and keep their Instagram on refresh. Chef Luis and team always have sweet seasonal specials that’ll get you out of your house and into their restaurant!
See Santa and celebrate with a scoop (or three) of Italy’s go-to dessert at Canarino Gelato. Don’t sleep on their affogato, either, especially if you were up late wrapping gifts!
Nothing speaks to the season more than cinnamon does. At Caravan Kebab, order the Bougatsa, a Greek filo pastry filled with semolina milk custard and flavored with lemon, cinnamon, and fennel seed. More of a traditionalist? Savor a slice of Baklava (Filo pastry layers with butter, walnut, almond, honey, and cinnamon).
At Charcoal, take your dessert experience to the next level by ordering their Coffee Crème Brûlée, which is gluten-free and decadent, with coffee custard, caramelized sugar, and almond biscotti.
Enjoy a nightcap and some sweet, sweet carbs at ChurchKey Pub. The go-to? Their to-die-for Dessert Pretzel, baked and covered with butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. It’s served with a side of house-made sweet vanilla and cream cheese icing. You’ll be back for this one, trust us. Bonus: ChurchKey is on the same street as Edmonds Center for the Arts, which will be your HQ for all kinds of holiday shows this winter.
Claire’s Pantry is the kind of place you opt for pie for breakfast. These true diner pies are all homemade and always rotating! Perfect for breakfasts out with visiting friends and family.
The Cottage, Community Bakery wants you to treat yourself—and your loved ones—to a Vanilla Bun. How does soft brioche dough, vanilla bean filling, vanilla bean simple syrup, and vanilla sugar sound? And, if you’re more citrus-forward, try the Lemon Bun, made with lemon zest and a butter swirl.
Got a gluten-free person with you this season? Bring them to Demetris for the best views and a delicious GF Chocolate Torte that will have them happily humming with their fork poised for its next bite.
Edmonds Bakery is known for its sweet and spicy gingerbread people decorated with detail. Pick your favorite from their Main Street store display case or visit their Edmonds Holiday Market booth.
P.S. In addition to Edmonds Bakery’s gingerbread people, you’ll find chocolates, toffees, and more at the Edmonds Holiday Market.
There’s no better time to invest in deep decadence than the holidays. With that in mind, order a few of Epulo’s signature Zeppole for the table—house-made donuts dusted with cinnamon sugar, and served with salted caramel sauce.
Stop by Fire & The Feast to experience its Tiramisu Trifle: scratch coffee liqueur-soaked lady fingers, marsala zabaione cream, cocoa powder, and chocolate espresso beans.
If you’re going to or coming from Lynnwood, stop for a treat at The Hook in Perrinville. Something we’re craving? Their Salted Caramel Vanilla Crunch Cake: A light, buttery, vanilla-flecked cake with waves of caramel cake and layered with salted caramel crunch and a creamy layer of custard.
Channel the big guy himself at Kelnero when you order a Cookies & Cream: Cold-brewed Lighthouse Roasters coffee, coconut-washed Averna, Bailey's Almond, Kahlúa, macadamia nut cacao & Angostura bitters, Frangelico-infused whipped cream, and toasted coconut flakes. Careful, though—this one’s a sleeper!
In the mood for matcha, but want to make it cake? Order a slice of matcha cake from Kocochi Cafe, newly opened by KidStrong on Highway 99. And don’t forget the bubble tea while you’re there.
At newcomer La Palmera, give in to tradition with an order of Fried Ice Cream: Vanilla ice cream rolled in corn flakes and deep fried, drizzled with honey, sugar, and cinnamon.
‘Tis the season for a spot of tea. Go all in at Mel & Mia’s. This is probably the biggest assortment of sweets you can find in one place in Edmonds (crumbcakes, pots de creme, cannoli, cookies, macarons!), and with a menu that changes daily, we expect you’ll enjoy many holi-dates here.
Craving donuts? We get it. Take the artistry up a notch at Mochinut Edmonds, where you can celebrate the season with bites of Choco Cream and Churro Caramel-flavored airy dough. And, keep your eye on their Instagram page for weekly specials that are sure to be Instagrammable crowd-pleasers.
Molly Moon’s does a fabulous job of telling us about their seasonal specials. Now scooping? Vegan Gingersnap, Dutch Apple Pie, and more to come. Keep this page on refresh to be the first to know—and taste them.
