Enjoy The Big Roar (And More) in Edmonds
Written by Whitney Popa
Seattle's got the stadium. Everett's got the waterfront watch parties, but Edmonds has something different—a chance to experience that big soccer energy without chaos or crowds, surrounded by Salish Sea views, award-winning food, and perfectly PNW small-town vibes.
It's the perfect escape for soccer fans and their (reluctant?) companions. And the town is ready.

Edmonds Watch Parties
Santa Fe Mexican Grill & Cantina is showing all Mexico matches with food and drink specials. An inflatable on the roof signals the party's happening. This is the place to be if you're rooting for El Tri, and even if you're not, the scratch margaritas and salsa are reason enough to stop by.
Salish Sea Brewing Boathouse Taproom is turning Harbor Square into Edmonds' unofficial home for World Soccer. Catch matches at the Boathouse Taproom in Harbor Square or sip and watch at its downtown Edmonds brew pub, where fans can gather over award-winning craft beer, special seasonal releases, giant soft pretzels, burgers, and more. With new TVs, live music on many match evenings, merch (!), and additional fan experiences planned throughout the tournament, Salish Sea (in two convenient Edmonds locations) is the place to cheer, celebrate, and soak up the energy of the world's biggest sporting event.
North Sound Church is hosting a watch party at theEdmonds Theaterfor anyone who wants a community gathering with their soccer. It's family-friendly, accessible, and a chance to experience the tournament alongside locals.
If You're Going to Seattle (Or Just Hungry for Edmonds)
Flying to see matches in person? Bar Dojo—the can’t-miss Asian melting pot that started here at Five Corners—has a location at Lumen Field. Take your Chino-Latino cuisine to go so you don’t miss any chance to holler Ole! It's a small taste of Edmonds at the heart of the action.
Day Off? Take to the Water
Between matches, escape to the literal Salish Sea. This is what Edmonds does better than anywhere else—it gives you access to epic Pacific Northwest adventures with ease.
A whale-watching day trip is one of the many reasons tons of visitors come to Edmonds. Puget Sound Expressoperates an all-day tour from the Port of Edmonds to San Juan Island, departing at 10 a.m. and returning by 6 p.m. It's the only whale-watching tour from the Seattle metro that includes a two-hour stop in Friday Harbor, where you can explore the seaside town, hit the Whale Museum, or grab lunch at one of the island's excellent restaurants. The tour comes with a guaranteed whale sighting—99% of tours spot whales! You can also book half-day tours if you want to maximize match-watching time.

Beyond whales, the Edmonds waterfront has the perfect beaches for walking off post-game energy, the Edmonds Underwater Park for divers, and the fishing pier for anglers (new or seasoned). Sit on the sand at sunset and watch the Olympic Mountains light up while ferries cross the Sound. You deserve an Edmonds kind of day.
Why Edmonds Is Your Home Field Advantage
When you root for your team from Edmonds, you don't have to choose between the tournament and, well, chilling, as it were.
You can watch Mexico's matches at Santa Fe, then wander to the waterfront for a sunset walk. You can spend an afternoon at the beach, grab craft beer at Salish Sea Brewing for the evening kickoff, and sleep comfortably without fighting Seattle traffic at midnight. You can bring your kids to enjoy a match at the Edmonds Theater, then take them and your pup to the dog park the next morning while you recover.
Edmonds is positioned perfectly between Seattle's World Cup headquarters and Everett's official watch party hub—close enough to be part of the tournament energy, far enough away to relax. We're talking free parking, a walkable downtown, beaches and trails for downtime, galleries and museums for non-soccer moments, and neighborhoods where families and groups always feel welcome.
This is the PNW at its best: small-town charm with city experiences, mountains and water as your backdrop, and locals who can’t wait to meet you (no Seattle freeze here!).
Oh, and P.S., if you want to eat (and drink) like the locals, here are some of the places you’ll find them enjoying legitimately world-class cocktails and cuisine:
Jaiiya Cafe has the best smoothies around and takes great care with its coffee
Anthony’s Beach Cafe has legitimately great food with the bonus of a view, plus a sandbox for the kiddos
Ono Poke is Instagram famous for many, many reasons and sells out most days before closing
Pancake Haus is an Edmonds breakfast institution
Engel’s and Daphes are some of the most enduring watering holes
Kelnero and Niles Peacock take cocktails to new heights, and Niles can’t seem to stop winning awards for his ‘za
The Cottage, Community Bakery treats bread like religion—as it should

A Note for The Reluctant Watchers
Not a soccer fan but dragged along? Edmonds gets it. You can say you participated in soccer excitement—you watched a match at an iconic brewery, ate tacos with tournament specials, cheered alongside other fans—but you also got to experience one of the most beautiful coastal towns in Washington. You sipped coffee while overlooking the Sound. You walked a beach. You ate some of the best pizza on the West Coast.
Everyone wins.
