Mavis Staples

Mavis Staples—one of the most powerful and enduring voices in American music—comes to Edmonds Center for the Arts for an evening of soul, gospel, and truth-telling. Spanning more than seven decades, from The Staple Singers to her acclaimed solo career, she continues to shape the sound and spirit of American roots music while carrying forward a legacy rooted in civil rights and hope.

Her latest project, Sad and Beautiful World, reflects on a lifetime of music through reimagined classics and new material produced by Brad Cook, highlighting her unmatched ability to bring depth, grace, and emotional clarity to every song.

At 86, Mavis continues to tour with remarkable presence and conviction, delivering performances grounded in lived history, faith, and a voice that remains as powerful and resonant as ever.
